Unicorn
Unicorns are more than just magical creatures in The Peacemaker’s War—they are wise, powerful, and deeply connected to the world around them. With their shining white coats and spiraled horns, they are symbols of purity and strength. Their horns hold incredible healing power, able to mend wounds and cure sickness.
But unicorns are not just gentle healers—they are also fierce protectors. No one can harm a unicorn without hurting their own soul. They can sense the true nature of a person. To someone kind and good, they are friendly and loyal. But to those with evil in their hearts, unicorns become a powerful force against them, making their enemies even stronger.
And if a unicorn is ever forced to use its horn in battle, the wound is not just to the body—it cuts deep into the soul, leaving a scar that will never fade.
Unicorns in Havilah are rare and powerful beings, guiding those who are worthy and bringing justice to those who are not.
Yara-ma-ya-who
The Yara-Ma-Ya-Who is a creature of nightmares in The Peacemaker’s War, lurking in the dense forests of Havilah. Small with red fur, with wide mouth and suction-cup fingers, this trickster doesn’t hunt like ordinary predators. Instead, it waits—perched high in the branches, silent and patient.
It preys on the careless, those who wander too far alone. When a traveler rests beneath its tree, the Yara-Ma-Ya-Who strikes, dropping onto them with its powerful grip. Instead of biting, it swallows the victim whole. Fortunately, it does not like the taste of human and will spit a human being bak out.
But the true terror of this creature isn’t just what it takes—it’s what it leaves behind. Those who fall victim three times don’t simply die. They change. Bit by bit, they lose themselves until they become a Yara-Ma-Ya-Who themselves, forever trapped in the treetops, waiting for their next prey.
Or so the legend goes...
Griffin
Griffins are majestic and fearsome creatures that rule the skies of Havilah. With the powerful body of a lion and the wings and head of an eagle, they are symbols of strength, wisdom, and honor. These magnificent beasts are not just predators—they are guardians, watching over the land from the highest peaks.
Loyal but proud, griffins do not serve just anyone. They choose their allies carefully, bonding only with those who prove themselves worthy. A person who earns a griffin’s trust will have a powerful protector.
Their talons are razor-sharp, their beaks can pierce armor, and their strength rivals that of any beast on land or in the air.
Griffins are also known for their keen eyesight, able to spot the smallest movement from miles away, which is why the king of Havilah has employed them as his protectors.
They sense truth and deception, making them valuable allies in times of war and conflict. Many legends say that the feathers of a griffin can grant wisdom, while their claws hold the power to break enchantments.
In Havilah, to see a griffin soaring overhead is either a sign of great fortune or an omen of an approaching trouble.
Manticore
There is only one manticore in all of Havilah, and its existence and it is known as the Deceiver of Men, a being so vile that even Novak, the fierce caretaker fears it. With the body of a lion, the leathery wings of a bat, and a human-like face with piercing golden eyes, the manticore is a thing of twisted, unnatural creation. Its scorpion tail can kill, but its deadliest weapon is not its claws or its fangs—it is its voice.
It sees into the hearts of those before it, sensing their thoughts, fears, and secrets. And once it knows them, it uses that knowledge to destroy. A single whisper can shatter resolve, plant doubt, and drive even the strongest minds into madness.
Legends say the manticore devours humans whole, its three rows of jagged teeth tearing through flesh and bone as if they were nothing. But what truly terrifies those who know of it is not its hunger—it is its knowledge. The manticore always seems to know things it should not, as if it has glimpsed into the very fabric of fate itself.
No one knows where the manticore came from, only that it was never meant to exist. It is a creature of deceit and destruction, a shadow lurking at the edges of Havilah, waiting for its next victim.It currently resides in the dungeon at the King's Palace in Havilah.
